Latest Reports - The Detroit News Online

What is the country coming to? A person gives his life defending our country and he doesn't even get peace after he dies. Even if you are against the war, or in this case gay people, why grief the family who lost a son, he didn't make the rules. I know we have free speech but there are limits and this crosses the line. Isn't there any decency or manners left anymore? People are so full of self-entitlement, rudeness, thoughtlessness, and a self-serving attitude it makes me sick. What I find so amazing is that people are so willing to inflict themselves on others. There is nothing wrong with having your own ideas or activities but don't assume others care or want to be like you. As much as you believe something, others think something else. Don't try to "change" him, he has the same rights you do, accept that and leave him alone. If you are religious, fine, but as strongly as you belive in Christ, the guy next to you believes in Vishnu, you won't change your mind so why do you think he should. I find it rather ironic that in the age of politial correctness running amok we are less tolerant now than ever. I can't even say "chick" without all but being lynched but these people can harass a funeral? DAMN! If people put as much effort into self-improvment and inflicting themselves on others we would be much better off. Even focusing on the problem instead of fighting the symptoms would be a good start. What I mean by that is, well, it's off topic but work with me here. Instead of bitching about gas prices, try to use less gas. If GM/Ford spent the money they use on ads telling us how good their cars are to actually make good cars, there wouldn't be a problem. Quit bitching about healthcare, put down the Marlboro and the Twinkie and go for a walk. Medical treatment is only expensive if you use it. Get my point? Work on yourself and the whole world will improve. I kinda got off topic a bit but, at least to me, it's all related and since it's my blog, I can do what I want, if you don't like it, you can leave.
